Mosaic Art Sculptures

These mosaic art sculptures were created for a specific client or fundraising event.

These mosaic art sculptures have been created for a specific client or fundraising event. With fundraisers I have little control over the type or style of base provided. But for my original mosaic sculptures I can fabricate the piece to fit most situations.

Peacock at the Red Wing Motel

The owner of the Red Wing Motel in Manitou Springs, CO wanted a sculpture for the garden area.

We discussed where it should go and what it should be and determined the sculpture should be a peacock made to sit on the garden fence. The patron asked for a peacock because of it’s association with hospitality.

The sculpture design recycles round tiles that were collected from a pool that had previously been in the area. You’ll see these rounds in the wing, comb, and tail details.

"Hearts a'Flutter" Butterfly

This piece incorporates stained glass and glass gems on a metal form. The design was created to showcase the life-cycle of the butterfly.

Created as part of a fundraiser for a Colorado Springs Rotary Club. See more about this fundraising event here.

"Lights and Darks" Butterfly

This piece incorporates clear and stained glass on a metal form. The white areas are clear glass over the white powder coat. The black areas are clear glass with tinted adhesive.

This design was created as an exercise in tonal variation.

Created as part of a fundraiser for a Colorado Springs Rotary Club. See more about this fundraising event here.

"Nocturne in Ursa Major"

Created as part of a local fundraiser, “Ursa” was designed to celebrate the local music establishment.

The piece incorporates vitreous glass tile and glass gems and is worked on a fiberglass form.
